The Oldie magazine covers humour, satire, current interest articles, book reviews, film and theatre. It was created in 1992 by Richard Ingrams who used to edit the Private Eye. The original aim according to Ingrams was to create ‘an antidote to youth culture’ as well as a magazine with an emphasis on good writing, humour and quality illustrations. It is designed for older readers who want a magazine with more bite.
