MEET THE EDITOR: M2 Magazine

Meet Andre Rowell, the editor of M2 Magazine, New Zealand’s only men’s lifestyle magazine.

WHAT IS M2 MAGAZINE? WHO IS IT FOR AND WHAT DOES IT COVER?

M2 is showcase of the latest innovation, developments and thinking across business, entertainment, motoring, technology, health, and style and all of the intersection points between them. It is content for the optimists, who are inspired by success and the people looking to create opportunities in the world.

WHAT CAN READERS EXPECT FROM M2 MAGAZINE IN THE COMING MONTHS?

As geopolitical pressures change our world in terms of supply chains, we will continue to look at our place in the world and the opportunity for New Zealand within this. We will continue to profile the people at the cutting edge of a range of sectors who are taking us to the world, creating jobs and even creating new industries. But life is not all work, so we balance this with amazing travel spots, the latest music, books and movies and cool gadgets.

HAS COVID IMPACTED YOUR APPROACH TO THE MAGAZINE OR WHAT READERS WANT FROM THE MAGAZINE?

There have been some extremes that seem to have developed out of Covid. On one hand the media landscape has been polarised and fraught with a sense of negativity and anxiousness. At the same time, people have rediscovered the importance of local, community, family and the power of being able to create change from the edge of the world. These factors have cemented our position as an optimistic voice showcasing what is possible.

IF M2 MAGAZINE HAD A MOTTO, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

To lead & inspire the world

IF YOU COULD BE ANYONE FAMOUS FOR A DAY, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I’m not sure that this question extends to time travel, but it would be cool to have been Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969. For the present time, I would go with a local famous person Peter Beck. I think I would spend half the day just trying to figure out how my brain is working. I mean, who goes from building a rocket engine in their garage in Dunedin to creating a 200-billion-dollar industry and working with NASA for deep space exploration?

WHY SUBSCRIBE?

In a world of noise, it is easy to lose sight of the incredible things being built and developed every day. M2 is an easy way to get that back while also helping to support a local business that showcases other local businesses.
